Centenary of Japanese immigration

Today, it has been a hundred years since the first ship bringing Japanese immigrants arrived in Brazil.

Tribute this fact! In honor to my origins! I accept tributes like: going to a Japanese restaurant, drinking sake, wearing your 'Takashi Murakami for Louis Vuitton' bag, making a origami, going to a karaoke, practicing karate, being a ninja, dressing like a geisha, dressing up in Harajuku style, driving a Honda, a Toyota or a Mitsubishi, using anything from Panasonic or Sony, wearing flip-flops (yes, their origin is Japanese), playing your Nintendo Wii or GameBoy, ..... ufff! my mind is empty now, but I am sure there are many things in your daily life that have Japanese influence.

Hello! My name is Aline Bear! Pleased to meet you!

Today, I changed my name. I mean my cyber name. I don't know if you noticed, but I was signing YouAdore and blog comments under Aline M (M to refer to my real life last name). Now, my name is Aline Bear.

I don't know if you notice but I don't work with fashion, art or music....I work as a business consultant. Therefore, I run one very-orthodox and corporate-related life, with terms like EBITDA, efficiency, share, profit, optimization, control, sales, interest, inflation, debt and other Wall Street vocab.

I also manage to run a second life, a paralell one. This life is defined to my sewing hobby and YouAdore posting. As an authentic gemini, I think the two-lifes keep me balanced because I don't think my life could ever be strictly corporate or fashion (ying and yang).

Once my formal job requires me to have a very serious and grown-up posture, I don't think it's appropriate to have my name dancing around the web under posts commenting the last fashion show or the perfect blush I found. The reason is because I deal with high-scale executives on my daily basis and what credibility will my work have to their eyes, if they find out I am also the YA owner? (No offense to fashion or beauty obsession, I love it, but my work environment is super orthodox)

So, get used to Aline Bear as my cyber name. It's really a joke because I eat too much and my sleeping is very close to hibernation (deep and long).

Today is Valentine's Day here in Brazil. I celebrated it yesterday to avoid overly-pink-romantic chaos! Le boyfriend took me to dine at a hip restaurant in town, Carlota, where I ate the most delicious seafood & vegetables dish I have ever tasted.

I won't be blabling about my Valentines...because it may be boring for you to read...I am here just to repass an advice to all single gals reading this: Get more 'Samantha Jones'!

Get carried away

Despite all not-so-flattering reviews, I loved the Sex and the city movie. I really don't know what the critics were thinking about when they saw this master piece But, for me and for my girls, the movie surpassed all expectations!

I had seen many of the looks, but they were just as magical as their first glimpse just because the outfits were perfectly coordinated with the story-line. As Ale Farah, from FilmeFashion, noticed the movie starts with vibrant color and patterns, which goes along the cherry mood set by the wedding expectation. After the humiliating wedding failure, the color palette sobers up reflecting the characters vibe caused the Carrie's broken heart.

The beauty of the movie is the quartet friendship fidelity and how each of the characters find happiness in their own way (there ain't a only happiness recipe...of course!).

I cried and laughed many times during this 2-hours-and-a-half delight! Looking foward to enjoy it once more!

(Sharing a joke with the ladies that have already seen the movie - I loved Charlotte's line "I curse the day you were born!" - lol!)

Apesar de algumas críticas não muito boazinhas com o filme ( vulgo crítica da Veja), eu simplesmente amei o filme do Sexn and the City. Realmente excedeu todas as minhas expectativas...

Eu já tinha visto a maioria dos figurinos durante os meus passeios internéticos, mas eles não perderam a sua magia quando os vi na telona. Os looks estão maestralmente coordenados com a narrativa como a Ale Farah observou há algumas semanas no Filme Fashion.

Assim como no seriado, toda a badalação da cidade, das roupas, dos sapatos e dos homens é apenas coadjuvante para a força da cumplicidade entre as quatro amigas! Além disso, acho que o filme expõe sutilmente que todas encontram a felicidade da sua própria maneira...

Enfim, assistir ao longa-metragem foi mistura de gargalhada, choro e também um pouco de saudosimo de quão bom era ter episódios frequinhos de SATC a cada temporada! Foi tão bom que já to desesperada para assistir mais uma vez!

Brazilian fashion weeks

This month, we have fashion overdose, because the fashion weeks are happening. Fashion Rio (at Rio de Janeiro) beggins tomorrow and it ends on June, 13th. And São Paulo Fashion Week is from June, 17th to June, 21st.

I was planning to go to the São Paulo Fashion Week at the weekend, but a corporate duty came up and totally blew any possibility of having a glimpse of the shows. Fashion Rio is also not visitable, because tomorrow I have my big birthday party at night! (full-schedule tomorrow! =])

Dream birthday present? Plane ticket to Rio de Janeiro and front seat invitations to the fashion shows. I KNOW it won't be possible and that's ok...many season are to come.

Este mês tem overdose fashion com o Fashion Rio e o SPFW!

Alguns pauzinhos já estavam se mexendo para que conseguisse entrar no SPFW no final de semana, mas apareceu um compromisso corporativo, não poderei ir em nenhum diazinho =[ !

Amanhã, começa o Fashion Rio, mas também não poderei ir porque tem a minha grandiosa festa de aniversário! Queria poder ir no domingo, mas TOTALMENTE impossível! Tudo bem....o futuro tá aí....
