Get carried away

Despite all not-so-flattering reviews, I loved the Sex and the city movie. I really don't know what the critics were thinking about when they saw this master piece But, for me and for my girls, the movie surpassed all expectations!

I had seen many of the looks, but they were just as magical as their first glimpse just because the outfits were perfectly coordinated with the story-line. As Ale Farah, from FilmeFashion, noticed the movie starts with vibrant color and patterns, which goes along the cherry mood set by the wedding expectation. After the humiliating wedding failure, the color palette sobers up reflecting the characters vibe caused the Carrie's broken heart.

The beauty of the movie is the quartet friendship fidelity and how each of the characters find happiness in their own way (there ain't a only happiness recipe...of course!).

I cried and laughed many times during this 2-hours-and-a-half delight! Looking foward to enjoy it once more!

(Sharing a joke with the ladies that have already seen the movie - I loved Charlotte's line "I curse the day you were born!" - lol!)

Apesar de algumas críticas não muito boazinhas com o filme ( vulgo crítica da Veja), eu simplesmente amei o filme do Sexn and the City. Realmente excedeu todas as minhas expectativas...

Eu já tinha visto a maioria dos figurinos durante os meus passeios internéticos, mas eles não perderam a sua magia quando os vi na telona. Os looks estão maestralmente coordenados com a narrativa como a Ale Farah observou há algumas semanas no Filme Fashion.

Assim como no seriado, toda a badalação da cidade, das roupas, dos sapatos e dos homens é apenas coadjuvante para a força da cumplicidade entre as quatro amigas! Além disso, acho que o filme expõe sutilmente que todas encontram a felicidade da sua própria maneira...

Enfim, assistir ao longa-metragem foi mistura de gargalhada, choro e também um pouco de saudosimo de quão bom era ter episódios frequinhos de SATC a cada temporada! Foi tão bom que já to desesperada para assistir mais uma vez!

I broke the bloguette first rule - I let a day fly by without a post. I am truly sorry, folks! Work was pure pressure yesterday.

This week, the SATC movie will be finally exihibited on the Brazilian screens. I am anxious to see it!

We also have my birthday this week!! I am celebrating my 22nd year in Earth! And the party is already scheduled and almost all the invitations were already done today.

This is a little birthday party, because my friend D and I are going to celebrate it together too! 22 years are worth 2 parties!

Yves Saint Laurent is dead, I read the news on Sunday at BryanBoy. I bet you have already done your personal tributes to him, I have. YSL had a vision the tranpassed his times, with the always-fresh Le Smoking for us girls, his innovative prêt-à-porter store, among others...

I have the SATC premiere pictures!

The event of the night is in London, as I mentioned in the previous post. I am dying to watch the movie, but wasn't invited to the premiere =\. I hope I find it in the internet and don't have to wait 'til June, 6th (when it begins to be exihibited on the Brazilian big screens).

Before I talk about the gowns, I wanted to share a point: why isn't the premiere in New York? Never been in London, I want badly to visit the place, I have nothing against London at all (seriously!). However, the show has a sintony with the Big Apple that is undescritible, and the SATC girls need the city, just as much the city need them! For the most expected SATC event, the girls went to London?!?! Come on! I guess the the movie big bosses wanted to think outside the box, and ended up thinking without the box (I mean without their heads).

No more bitching about the city choice, my personal favourite dress was Cinthia Nixon's. She is wearing a black mettalic Calvin Klein and looks sexy and beautiful. I love it because, Miranda doesn't wear sexy clothes often, she wears pretty clothes, but is always so repectable that nobody can't take her seriously at work (witch is great fot her professional orthodoxy environment, that I identify with).

I haven't decided if I like Sarah Jessica Parker outfit. I have read that she looks like a pineapple, I couldn't avoid a little giggle. She is wearing Alexander McQueen, that she worships and I do it too, and has Philip Treacy on her head. The look screams Carrie and not Sarah.

Kim Catrall surprised me with a more fashionista look than she is used to present herself. Her look is signed by Vivienne Westwood, the cut is great, but I don't quite agree with the fabric choice, that seems too tough and doesn't hugs well her fabulous body.

Kristin Davis was no surprise at all, in a good way. She wore a vintage red chiffon Guy Laroche Couture dress and looked pretty and classic (very Charlotte-like), but didn't wow anyone.

About the red, Kim and Kristin must have followed the big RED trend set by the Oscars. For me, their color-choice wasn't the wisest, just because SATC must be avant-gárde and trend-setter, not trend-follower.
